Phoenix House is an apartment community located in Atlanta, GA first opened in 1990. The apartments provide affordable long-term housing for adults who are homeless and have highly service dependent mental illness.   LDC was requested to be part of the team to shape the much needed renovations.   LDC played a integral role in introducing the new site plan which incorporated all new living units while integrating with the two existing Victorian style homes. The final design preserved the historical context of the site, while merging contemporary design and modern amenities. . The community incorporates a centrally located greenspace, a community garden, outdoor grouping areas and more. Project fulfilled HUD and ADA requirements while  meeting Earthcraft guidelines.
